Yes. Hoarding is recognised as a mental health condition by the NHS, and rushing or judging the homeowner can cause real harm. We move at the homeowner's or family's pace, ask before disposing of anything that may be sentimental, and never pressure anyone into decisions. Where needed, our team works in full PPE due to the conditions often found in heavily cluttered properties.
Absolutely. We regularly support adult children, siblings or partners trying to help a loved one. With permission, we can carry out the clearance while the homeowner is elsewhere, or work alongside them in stages. We can also liaise directly with social workers, mental health teams or council officers if appropriate.
Yes. When a loved one with a hoarding disorder passes away, the property left behind can feel overwhelming for the family. We handle these clearances with extra care — searching thoroughly for wills, deeds, paperwork, photographs, jewellery and items of sentimental value before anything is disposed of. We work directly with families, executors and probate solicitors. Where a property requires specialist biohazard cleaning before the estate can be settled, we'll point you to a certified specialist.
It varies enormously. A heavily cluttered 2-bed flat might take 2–4 days. A severe long-term hoard could take a week or more, sometimes split across visits. We give a clear fixed price and timescale before any work begins.
Yes — this is one of the most important parts of what we do. Every item is checked. Cash, bank cards, ID documents, photographs, letters, jewellery and anything that looks meaningful is set aside and handed to the homeowner, family or executor for review.
Yes. We're fully PPE-equipped and have cleared severely soiled properties including those with rodent infestations and general contamination. For specialist biohazard cleaning (which requires specific certification) or pest control, we'll coordinate with a qualified specialist as part of the service.
We can arrive in unmarked clothing on request and use plain vehicles where practical. Skips and waste containers are positioned discreetly. Confidentiality is something we take very seriously on hoarding jobs.
